Applying to Harvard University involves the following steps:

1. Choose an Application Platform

Both platforms are treated equally by Harvard, so choose the one that feels more comfortable for you. Create an account, fill in your personal details, and provide general background information, including your education, extracurriculars, and honors.

2. Complete Harvard-Specific Questions

After selecting Harvard as one of your schools, you’ll be prompted to answer their supplemental questions. These questions help Harvard understand your unique story, motivations, and fit for their community.

-Short Essays: You may be asked to describe your academic interests, significant activities, or a personal challenge. Prompts typically focus on topics like what inspires you, your goals, or how Harvard aligns with your aspirations.

-Optional Section: Harvard allows you to share additional information or unusual circumstances not covered elsewhere in the application.

3. Submit Required Documents

- Secondary School Report: Your counselor will submit this, along with your high school transcript and a school profile.

- Teacher Evaluations: Two recommendations from teachers who know your work in core academic subjects (e.g., math, science, English). Aim to ask teachers who can provide specific examples of your skills, character, and potential.

- Standardized Test Scores (Optional for 2024-2025): If you choose to submit SAT or ACT scores, use Harvard's official codes:

Self-reported scores are acceptable during the application process; official scores are required if admitted.

4. Pay the Application Fee

-A non-refundable fee of $85 is required.
If this poses a financial problem, you can request a fee waiver within the application, supported by your counselor.
